William King Invitational 2026
Liability Waiver, Assumption of Risk, and Release Agreement

I am registering to participate in the William King Invitational 2026 (the "Event"), a recreational kickball tournament hosted by William King and CAMP (the "Host"), taking place at Howe Park, Sacramento, California on November 21, 2026. By checking the box and typing my name at checkout, I agree to the following on behalf of myself:

1. Eligibility. I represent that I am at least 18 years of age. This acknowledgment may only be completed by the participant themselves, on their own behalf; it cannot be completed by a parent or guardian for a minor.

2. Assumption of Risk. I understand that participating in kickball and related activities (including practices, warm-ups, and time spent at the venue as a player or spectator) involves inherent risks of physical injury, including but not limited to collisions with other participants, falls, sprains, fractures, and, in rare cases, severe or catastrophic injury. These risks may result from my own actions, the actions of others, the condition of the playing surface or equipment, or other factors. I voluntarily choose to participate with full knowledge of these risks and I freely accept and assume them.

3. Release of Claims. To the fullest extent permitted by California law, I release, waive, and discharge the Host, its organizers, officials, volunteers, and the owner(s) of the venue where the Event takes place (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of ordinary negligence in connection with my participation in the Event. This release does not apply to, and does not waive any claim based on, gross negligence, recklessness, or willful or intentional misconduct by a Released Party, as California law does not permit waiving liability for those.

4. Medical Treatment. I consent to receive first aid or emergency medical treatment that Event staff or volunteers reasonably believe is necessary if I am injured or become ill during the Event, and I understand I am responsible for any costs of that treatment. I represent that I know of no medical condition that would prevent my safe participation, or if I do have such a condition, I have consulted a physician and been cleared to participate.

5. Rules Compliance. I agree to follow the Event's rules and the reasonable instructions of officials and organizers, and to promptly report any unsafe condition I notice to Event staff.

6. No Participant Insurance Provided. I understand that the Host does not provide accident or health insurance covering participants, and that I am relying on my own health insurance, if any, for any injury that may occur.

7. Electronic Signature. I understand that checking the box and typing my full legal name at checkout constitutes my electronic signature on this agreement, and that it is legally binding to the same extent as a handwritten signature, as permitted under California's Uniform Electronic Transactions Act.

8. Severability. If any part of this agreement is found unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect.

9. Governing Law. This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California.

I confirm that I have read this entire agreement, understand it, and am signing it voluntarily.
